About Me
My name is Jennifer White, and I am a Registered Nurse working in Healthcare Management & Administration in Ontario Canada, with a passion for Geriatric Care and Community Support Services. I grew up between Vancouver Island British Columbia, and here in Ontario where I reside now in a rural community just outside of the Nations Capital. I earned my Bachelor of Science (BScN) from the University of Ottawa, and after a few years working in hospital and community care programs, I have happily dedicated the last 10 years to system level quality improvement.

EXPERIENCE
2016-2022
County of Renfrew - Miramichi Lodge
Director of Care
Miramichi Lodge is a 166 bed Municipal Long-term Care Home owned and operated by the County of Renfrew. As Director of Care (DOC), my portfolio included direction of the Nursing, Programming, Restorative/Therapeutic, and Social Work departments, and fiscal accountability for a combined annual budget of just over 10 million. Throughout my 6 years as DOC I had opportunity to lead and/or participate in strategic and operational planning, Accreditation Surveys, RFP's, labor relations, collective bargaining, and contract negotiations, performance-based metrics, and compliance with provincial legislation and reporting requirements. As the organizational lead for Clinical Programs and Services, DEI, Ethics, Privacy Law, Pandemic Response, and Electronic Health Systems (OneID, OTN, PCC), I remained apprised of evolving best practices, trending issues, and worked closely and collaboratively with both front line staff and community partners to ensure evidence informed leadership decisions, and the successful implementation of meaningful and sustainable quality initiatives.

Marianhill is home to 139 Long-term Care Residents, as well as Hospice, Respite, and Complex Continuing Care patients, and numerous community programs including Assisted Living, Homemaking, Community Respite (MATCH), and Adult Day Programs. I began my health career at Marianhill in 2007 as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) while I worked towards completion of my BScN Degree. I was continually supported in my professional growth through a variety of roles such as research, program and policy development, staff education, quality improvement, infection prevention and control, and nursing management.
